Cactus
Lost in Desert….
Cactus is not just a plant it is the symbol of stubbornness. It can survive extreme adversities of its dear habitat the desert. “Lost in desert” is an optimistic phrase showing indulgence of Cactus in love for desert. In North America Cactus is a simile to Mother and her warmth. We are mindful that a mother is a supernatural being with super sensitivity, super tolerance, super warmth, and Super love. She can bear any worse condition and stand still for her children. Cactus even in scarcity can produce sweet fruits, fragrant flowers and spreads beauty and love.
Dipti is a person full of love and compassion. Her philanthropy for living things is her eminence that also overrides in her paintings. Why not, it’ obvious because she has born on World Environment Day, 5th June. Only a person like her can find beauty in thorny cactus. How emblematic are her canvases. The emotionless desert is painted flat with some changing patterns on some of the canvases showing its pattern formed by stormy winds. This disoriented background indicates the barrenness, sterility of desert. And there poses a soft hearted cactus. She has painted it quite delicately and humbly. Flat delicate colours only shows its soul with irrigating lifelines of water. Few dots are the less discerned thorns that shouldn’t be ignored. In spite of these blazing constraints, the beautiful flowers are painted to show the adeptness of Cactus.
It takes gut to paint minimal and express most. Moreover, to choose Cactus as your hero. A great applaud to her bravery and success. One of her Cactus series was exhibited in Jehangir Art Gallery in 2018 and was rejoiced and appreciated by art lovers and critics. Art Affinity 6 has brought to you the authentic works of the prolific practioner Dipti Dandekar. We invite you to a desert safari through her canvases.
