... Story Of India's Legendary
BY
SANJIV SANKKPAL
Sanjiiv’s art flowing through his veins was marked by his parents and teachers and encouraged him to foster his talent. After art education he was polished as an artist by passion and by profession. His parents were fairly supportive in all terms though they were not that sure to nurture his such passion and take a risk of making it as profession. And realization of this fact became his biggest strength for prosperous art journey. To make him an internationally acclaimed artist.

A STORYTELLER

Sanjiv Sankkpal is a man with his deep roots in his Soil, his “Motherland”. She is the ultimate personification for his casting as an artist and can be intuited as an epitome of his magnum opus. Sanjiv has prospered in glorifying her Legendary through his prodigious canvases. This Painter is a Patriot, who thinks he owes infinite to her.

This show “Soil” is a story of India’s Legendary narrated by Sanjiv in language of colours. Hence, I have given him a name of “A Storyteller”. This is a keenly curated art show comprising of oeuvre that will help re-count to the title “Soil”

Figurative compositions of Sanjiv are recited sonnets of our people that out-do invocation of senses through its elegant figurative language. They will create an impact on you which is nuanced by your own psychological and social state.

Sanjiv's landscapes are literally a mirage. This is because from distance we see the actuality of brown hills, dark vales, greener grasses and dense bushes, lush trees. But as we zoom in we could find just mystic scribbles and strokes. This is his exceptional excellence.

Some of his abstract cityscapes are a natural expression of blissful memories that flash upon his paintings in sprightly formations. We are fortunate to see through his abstract landscapes, how splendid his solitude is.

By now we have cleverly understood that he does not record the scene merely as observed through eyes but imbue the image with a spiritual and psychological nature of that scene. And this is a resonance of his personality. On surfaces his brushstrokes pulsate with the sense of excitement and pleasure that he has experienced while painting. He fashions inimitable, fluent, emotionally evocative, dramatic, imaginative, rhythmic canvases that convey far more than the mere appearance of the subject. His approach is an impulsive, gestural application and symbolic colors to express emotions.

Friends, family, collectors, appreciators, critics and above all nature are his real mentors. He feels gratified because his audience get contentment by viewing his paintings.
